IL-17A aptamer
Description
In 2011, Ishiguro et al. used the SELEX method to isolate IL-17A-aptamer, after 21 rounds of selection. Apt21-2 is composed of 13 ribose 2-fluoropyrimidines and 20 unmodified purines[1].SELEX
In 2011, Ishiguro et al. identified isolated 3 specific sequences for targeting HA in a 30nt sequence pool[1].
Detailed information are accessible on SELEX page.
Structure
Apt21-2 was the aptamer sequence mainly studied in the article, which had a high affinity with hIL-17A. The 2D structure of the figure is based on the article by ribodraw tool to draw[1].5'-GGUCUAGCCGGAGGAGUCAGUAAUCGGUAGACC-3'
Ligand information
SELEX ligand
Interleukins (IL) are a group of cytokines that play an important role in the immune system. They modulate inflammation and immunity by regulating growth, mobility and differentiation of lymphoid and other cells.Interleukin-17 (IL-17) is a potent proinflammatory cytokine produced by activated memory T cells. The IL-17 family (of which there are 6 known members, termed IL-17A to IL-17F) is thought to represent a distinct signalling system that appears to have been highly conserved across vertebrate evolution. Family members play an active role in inflammatory diseases, autoimmune diseases and cancer. This entry represents interleukin-17 found in chordata.-----from Pfam

We used the Dail server website to compare the structural similarities of ligand proteins, and chose the top 10 in terms of similarity for presentation. The Dali server is a network service for comparing protein structures in 3D. Dali compares them against those in the Protein Data Bank (PDB). Z-score is a standard score that is converted from an original score. The list of neighbours is sorted by Z-score. Similarities with a Z-score lower than 2 are spurious. RMSD(Root Mean Square Deviation) value is used to measure the degree to which atoms deviate from the alignment position.
